Housing Report Shows Poor Are In Danger
By Emelius at 6:31 PM
The National Low Income Housing Coalition released a report that states that:
In only four of the nations 3,066 counties can someone working full-time and earning federal minimum wage afford to pay rent and utilities on a one-bedroom apartment
The report goes on to describe that an average person working in the US would need $15.37 an hour to pay for rent and utilities. That number is far less than the federal minimum wage of $5.15 an hour and enough to cripple many Americans attempting to live life on their own. MSNBC broke down the report and gives the glancing details.
